Song Suggestions

Do you know of songs that are based on Bible verses or stories, and are not in this database? Here’s the criteria:

  1. The song is based on a story, passage or verse in the Bible
  2. The song is a reverential setting of Scripture; in other words, it’s not mocking a Bible story or verse. Examples of irreverent uses of Scripture in music are “It Ain’t Necessarily So” from Porgy and Bess, or “All This Time” by Sting (“Better to be poor than be a fat man in the eye of a needle”)
  3. The song passes the 1 Chronicles 25 test of being done by “skilled musicians” (verse 7). It doesn’t matter if it’s a studio recording, a live venue or someone’s living room. If it’s sung and played well, then this requirement is met.
  4. The song has a Youtube or a Soundcloud link – preferably from the artist directly or from the record company.

If the song(s) you have in mind meets these criteria, send me the title and link to foggyclimb@gmail.com.

I will update the page weekly and will respond accordingly.

Thanks so much for your interest!
